Bob Butera, PhD
Founder & Programs Director
Robert is the founder of The YogaLife Institute and the publisher of Yoga Living magazine. He studied yoga at The Yoga Institute of Mumbai. He holds Masters in Divinity from the Earlham School of Religion and a Ph.D. in Yoga Philosophy & Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies.
With over 25 years of continual teaching experience, Bob is known for sharing Classical Yoga principles in a practical way that connects students with their own divinity. He is also is the author of three books, The Pure Heart of Yoga, Meditation for Your Life and Yoga Therapy for Stress and Anxiety (Llewellyn Worldwide).
Owner & Programs Director
Kristen is the owner of the YogaLife Institute and the editor of Yoga Living Magazine. She has been studying and teaching for fifteen years, accumulating 3000+ hours of professional training in a variety of styles. Her passion is for training yoga teachers and therapists, creating a learning environment that helps students connect modern anatomical and scientific innovations with the ancient wisdom of practice. She is the author of Yoga Therapy for Active Living (Human Kinetics, 2017).
Studio & Advertising Manager
Erica Saellam brings her strong background in yoga and organizational management to the YogaLife team. A problem solver by nature and an artist by trade, she holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with a special focus in graphic design and metal smithing. She completed her 250 hr yoga teacher training and is currently pursuing her 500 hr certification at YogaLife. In her spare time she creates beautiful handcrafted jewelry, studies philosophy, draws mandalas, reads and spends time with her dog and loved ones.

Al is a gifted massage therapist who has been practicing Yoga, Meditation & Reiki for over 15 years. As a long time member of the YogaLife community, he is thrilled to be teaching at YogaLife.
Randi Coen Gilbert
Yoga Teacher & Yoga Therapist, Pre & Post Natal Yoga Specialist
Randi has been teaching at YogaLife since 2001. She holds advanced certifications in Pre & Pose Natal Yoga & Yoga Therapy along with her doula certification. She also has a Masters Degree in Drama Therapy and works as a therapist, counselor and child advocate. She considers her two children to be her greatest Zen Masters and is constantly learning lessons from them. She loves being a part of the YogaLife community and sharing her practice with others.

Libby has a B.A. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Maryland. In 2004, she and her family were relocated to PA, where she first began practicing yoga. Libby holds advanced certifications in Kids Yoga & Yoga Therapy including specialized training for children with special needs. When she's not practicing yoga she enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons traveling, cooking or skiing.

Erika found her home at YogaLife and has been teaching here since 2004. She holds advanced certifications in Yoga & Yoga Therapy. She is also a skin care specialist and manual lymphatic drainage massage practitioner. Erika is a firm believer in the tenets of yogic tradition, she relishes the opportunity to share her yoga vision and experience with her students.

Jen has been dedicated yoga practitioner of over 20 years. She discovered YogaLife in 2004 and has since completed specialized training in Yoga & Yoga Therapy. She has a Masters Degree in Neuroscience, and as a mother and athlete her passions include educating families about the benefits of healthy eating and breath awareness, along with playing tennis, biking, traveling and spending quality time with family and friends.

Janet's yoga life began in 1973 in Germantown with the center that became the Kripalu Yoga Fellowship. She developed a strong connection to the Kripalu community, and she completed her 200-hour certification in 1976, under the mentoring of Yogi Amrit Desai. She joined the YogaLife family in 2010 as a teacher and a student, completing advanced certifications in Yoga & Yoga Therapy, Janet is a retired schoolteacher who worked in the local area for more than 20 years.

Irma’s curiosity for learning is what she appreciates most about the practice of yoga. She has completed the 250 Hour & 500 Hour Teacher Trainings at YogaLife and is currently pursuing her 820 Hour certification in the Comprehensive Yoga Therapy program. With a B.A. in the studies of Human Services and a M.S. in Human Services Administration Irma has also worked over the years as a counselor with variety of populations and families in need. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with loved ones (humans & animals) along with continuing her education and expanding her knowledge base.

Patti is a veteran teacher with 20 years of experience in the field. With more than 2000 hours of training, she has a passion for health and wellness and remains a dedicated student of the movement arts. She is a graduate of 820 hour Comprehensive Yoga Therapy training at YogaLife. Patti lives in Malvern with her husband, sons and 3 dogs. In her spare time, she loves to read, practice yoga, and spend time with family and friends.
Yoga Teacher, Nurse Practitioner & Healthy Living Specialist
Jen is a physical activity enthusiast who discovered yoga by accident. A self-described “conventional athlete”, Jen was forced to take a break from running due to a recurring lower back issue. Luckily, she stumbled in to a yoga class and has been intrigued by yoga’s powerful healing capabilities and positive benefits ever since. She is a Physician Assistant, has a Masters Degree in Public Health, heads up a local weekly walking program and enjoys empowering people to move and to relax in ways that work best for them.
Yoga Teacher, Yoga Tutor & Trauma Sensitive Yoga Specialist
Jillian is a YogaLife certified 250-hour yoga instructor as well as a certified Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F). She brings elements of her trauma-sensitive training into all her classes, helping students feel comfortable in their bodies, learn self-regulation skills, and improve their ability to direct attention away from ruminative thought processes through experimenting with breathing, moving and resting.

Allie is a yoga teacher with a passion for sharing the gift of yoga to children and teens. She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Cabrini College. She wishes to play a positive role in the development of children by inspiring them to cultivate lasting qualities such as, confidence, less anxiety, mindfulness, to be their own thinkers, creativity, authenticity and hope for the experience to last a lifetime for both teacher and student. With her soft, kind, authoritative voice results in positive behavior by her students as well as her ability to relate to her students and meet their varying needs.
Yoga Teacher & Fitness Specialist
Jane began her educational journey with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Immaculata University. As a stay at home mom she began instructing group fitness classes. It was at this time that she fell in love with the practice of yoga. She is graduate of the 250-hour Teacher Training and 40-hour Yin Yoga Training programs at YogaLife. In addition she holds a certification in Reiki Level One. She is also currently pursuing her certification in the 820 Hour Comprehensive Yoga Therapy Training. Jane loves teaching yoga and considers it an honor to share the practice with others.
Susan first started practicing Yoga in 1995 in order to compliment her athletic pursuits of competitive swimming and running. She is graduate of the 250-hour Teacher Training and 40-hour Yin Yoga Training programs at YogaLife. Today, Susan manages her time as a parent to her two young children and developing her skills as both a Yoga student and a Yoga teacher. She continues to seek out ways to grow her knowledge and share it with others.

Kelly began practicing yoga in 2006 and noticed immediate relief from a particular stressful time in her life. Within a few months decided to deepen her yoga studies with Robert Butera, PhD at the YogaLife Institute in Devon, PA. She has over 1000 hours of Classical Yoga training and is one of the first graduates of the Comprehensive Yoga Therapy training at the YogaLife Institute. Kelly practices yoga as a lifestyle and is committed to teaching the principles of yoga so that students may learn to live a more peaceful, balanced, and joyful life. Kelly also enjoys bicycling, gardening and entertaining friends and family with her husband at their home in Saint Peters Village.
Yoga Teacher, Physical Therapist Assistant
Christine Sturgis, mother of five, sports enthusiast and yoga practitioner of 20+ years, has spent the last 10 years developing a career applying two of her greatest passions: helping others and movement. She is a licensed PTA and RYT, trained in SFMA (Selective Functional Movement Assessment) and certified in FMS (Functional Movement Screen), giving her a wide range of knowledge and experience in movement synergies that she is able to pass on to her students/clients. She is an enthusiastic participant in many sports and activities, deeply understanding that efficiency of movement in a balanced exercise program will allow us to actively participate in the activities that we love for many years to come, she is one with you!!
