Yoga Based Tutoring & Study Skills

Yoga Education to Support Scholastic Development

Yoga Education has been proven to help kids with academic, social, and athletic performance. The Yoga Based Tutoring programs at YogaLife are tailored to each child’s unique learning style. In addition to specific subject guidance, students learn mindfulness, breathing, stress management and a positive mindset.

Each session consists of two parts - the first half of focuses on building mind-body connections through mindfulness, breathing, yoga poses, relaxation or attention harnessing exercises. In the second half of the session directly applies the awareness from the first half to problem solving around a specific subject of study or personal learning goal.

What to Expect

The first session will be focused on evaluating whether or not yoga based tutoring is the right fit for your child. After evaluations, we will assign a tutor that specializes in the particular area of interest or need. It is important to know that the approach is custom-fit to the child. Typically six to eight sessions constitute the beginning program; with sessions scheduled at one to two week intervals at the onset and then tailored to individual needs and scheduling considerations.

Yoga Therapy for Kids with Test Taking Anxiety & School Related Stress

For Kids & Teens Yoga Therapy helps to build confidence and emotional intelligence, expand social skills, harness attention and increase focus. Kids receive personalized tools to support their goals and needs.

Yoga Therapy empowers kids and teens to become students of their own wellness. More than a yoga class or private yoga session, the program offers personalized yoga instruction, stress management and lifestyle balancing practices that help kids and teens make positive mind-body connections that can last a lifetime.

What to Expect

Yoga therapy differs from Yoga Tutoring in that the entire session is holistically focused on individual goals for mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health. Initial yoga therapy sessions will be information gathering and intention setting to build rapport and have a direction for growth. Subsequent yoga sessions will help kids develop a body of knowledge that empowers them to apply the skills they learn in daily life situations.

Typically six to eight sessions constitute the beginning program, scheduled at one to two week intervals at the onset and then tailored to individual scheduling considerations, and include practices to enhance body awareness, mindfulness, breathing, mental focus and self-regulation. Learning is always customized to meet each child's unique disposition and needs.
