Yoga Therapy for Stress & Anxiety: Breath Focus

October 19th from 6-9 PM
December 3rd from 1:30-4:30 PM

This is 3 credit CEU workshop for LCSWs, MFTs, and LPCs on Bob Butera’s latest book- Yoga Therapy for Stress & Anxiety. This workshop will focus on the use of the breath as a simple, yet powerful, clinical intervention for anxiety and stress.

These accessible and evidence-based practices incorporate principles of the mind-body connection, neuroplasticity, and neuroscience to reduce symptoms of anxiety. Come experience the power of breath and leave with exercises you can easily and safely teach in session.

While not required, we recommend reading the book, wearing comfortable clothing, and bringing a journal.

Clinical Goals: By reading the book, attending and participating in the entire discussion, participants will:
1. Explore breathing practices to reduce stress and help soothe anxiety
2. Understand and be able to explain the science of breath- how it reduces stress and down-regulates the nervous system
3. Discuss breathing as an evidence-based clinical intervention in the treatment of anxiety
