The Psoas is the deepest muscle of the human body. When it is functioning in a healthy manner, it helps to stabilize the spine, provide support through the trunk and form a shelf for the vital organs of the abdominal core. A tight psoas can create structural problems, constrict the organs, put pressure on nerves and impair diaphragmatic breathing. This seminar will explore the psoas and offer students the opportunity to cultivate the somatic awareness necessary for sensing/responding to its feedback and working with it skillfully in yoga practice.
